DESCENDANTS OF JOHN THOMAS GREAVES AND ELLEN ------ OF BARTON-ON-HUMBER, LINCOLNSHIRE, ENGLAND

GENERATION 1

John Thomas Greaves (1) was born about 1820 in Scartho, Lincolnshire, England.  In census records he was sometimes called Thomas J. and sometimes John.  He married Ellen ‑‑‑‑‑‑.  She was born about 1825 in Saxby, Lincolnshire.  John is probably the John Greaves, 20, manual labourer, in the 1851 census for Elsham, Lincs.  They were in the 1851 census for Elsham, Lincs.  They were in the 1861, 1871, and 1881 censuses for Barton on Humber, Lincolnshire.  He was an agricultural labourer, although he was listed as a waggoner in 1861.  Ellen was in the 1891 and 1901 censuses for Barton on Humber, Lincolnshire, as a widow, with her unmarried son James living with her.
