GENERATION 2

CHILDREN OF JOHN W. GREAVES (1) AND SARAH MAY

William Greaves (2) was born 30 Dec. 1852 in Leeds, Yorkshire, and died 28 Dec. 1938. He first married Mary Elizabeth ‑‑‑‑‑‑ on 25 May 1874. She was born 18 May 1852 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, and died 22 Feb. 1903. They were in the 1881 census at 63 Bagby Rd., Leeds, Yorkshire, PRO Ref. RG11, piece 4527, folio 67, page 16, with him listed as landscape artist. Living with them was his brother George, age 19, unmarried. Of their children, Charles was born in Sheffield and Joseph and Clarence were born in Leeds.

He married second Edith Emma Noble on 27 Jan. 1906. She was born 10 April 1873 and died 20 July 1941. She may have been his cousin. (R‑1)
