Co., VA.
Children – Baber
10. Frank Baber, b.c. 1845.

Martha Elizabeth Baber (6) was born 2 Oct. 1825 in
Rutherfordton, Rutherford Co., NC, died 21 Nov. 1900, and was buried in
Abilene, Taylor Co., TX. She first
married James S. Houser. He was born
about 1826 in SC. She married second ‑‑‑‑‑‑
Proctor. Based on census records, it
looks as if her first husband died about 1860, she married a Proctor after
that, and he died before 1870, leaving no children from the second marriage.
She was in the 1850 census for Chickasaw Co., MS, with her
first husband and their first child. He
was a farmer. She was in the 1860
census for McLennan Co., TX, with 7 children but no husband. She was in the 1870 census for McLennan Co.,
TX, as Martha Proctor, with 5 children but no husband. The children’s surname was listed as Henson
(or Hensen), but they seemed to be the Houser children. She was in the 1880 census for McLennan Co.,
TX, as Martha Proctor, with 4 Houser children and no husband. Her first 3 children were born in MS, and
the others in TX. (R‑1)

1854. He was born about 1822 in

Richmond Dist., Stokes Co., NC, living with his mother, Mary Early, 55. Samuel and Mary were in the 1860 census for
Neosho, Newton Co., MO, with both their places of birth listed as SC (probably
should be NC), and her mother living with them. The 1870 census for Neosho, Newton Co., MO, listed Mary, her 5
