Madison Graves (1) may have been born about 1830.  He married Sylvia ‑‑‑‑‑‑.  She was born about 1810 according to the 1880 census.  She was recorded on the 1880 census in Yanceyville, Caswell Co., NC.  They were listed on the marriage records of their sons Isaac and Spencer Graves as their parents.

Isaac Graves (2) was born about 1852 in Caswell Co., NC.  He married Adaline (ÒAddieÓ) Lea, daughter of Ned Lea and Joanah Lea, on 24 Dec. 1873 in Stony Creek, Caswell Co., NC[1].  She was born in Caswell Co., NC.

Spencer Graves (3) was born in Nov. 1854 in NC, and died between 5 May 1910 (the date of the 1910 census) and 27 April 1919, RachelÕs death date.  He married Rachel Brooks, daughter of Levi Brooks and Matilda Simpson[2], on 7 July 1877 in Stony Creek, Caswell Co., NC[3].  She was born in July 1861 in NC, died 27 April 1919 in Stony Creek, NC, and was buried in Camp Springs United Methodist Church Cem., Camp Springs, Caswell Co., NC[4].  They were in the 1880, 1900, and 1910 censuses for Stony Creek, Caswell Co., NC.  All 6 of their children were still living in 1900.  All their children were born in NC, probably all in Caswell Co.

Charles (ÒCharlieÓ) Henry Graves (4) was born about 1879 (or 20 June 1873[5]) in Caswell Co., NC, died 2 Sept 1931 in Reidsville, Rockingham Co., NC[6], and was buried in Greenview Cem., Reidsville, NC.  He married Ada Graves, daughter of Jordon Graves and Alice Branick, on 6 Feb. 1905 in Rockingham Co., NC.  According to the marriage record for Jordan and Alice, JordanÕs parents were Bob Graves and Elmira Graves.  Ada was born Feb. 1882 in NC.  Ada may have been a daughter from a previous marriage since her birth date is before JordanÕs marriage date.  Charlie and Ada were recorded on the 1910-1930 censuses in Reidsville, NC; their children were born in NC.

Samuel (ÒSamÓ) Lee[7] Graves (5) was probably born in June 1875 in NC, died 23 April 1947, and was buried in Camp Springs United Methodist Church Cem., Camp Springs, Caswell Co., NC[8].  Although the 1900 census gives a date of June 1877, all the other censuses give the date as about 1875.  He was called Sam L. Graves in some censuses.  He first married Mamie L. Graves, daughter of Susan Desnoozes Graves of Genealogy 67, on 30 Dec. 1903 in Caswell Co., NC[9].  She was born about 1877, and died after 1906.  He married second Minnie Blackwell, daughter of Nat Slade and Mary Blackwell, on 24 Aug. 1908 in Caswell Co., NC[10].  She was born about 1889 in NC, and died after 1940.  They were in the 1910, 1920, 1930, and 1940 censuses for Stony Creek Twp., Caswell Co., NC.  He was a farmer.  All his children were born in NC, probably all in Caswell Co.

James (ÒJimÓ) Graves (6) was born 28 Jan. 1878 in NC, died 10 Aug. 1964 in NC Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill, Orange Co., NC[11], and was buried in BrownÕs Chapel Baptist Church Cem., Matkins, Caswell Co., NC.  .  His usual residence was Reidsville, Caswell Co., NC.  He first married Mollie Belle Brown on 2 Jan. 1901 in Stony Creek, Caswell Co., NC.  She was born about 1884 in NC, died 22 April 1928, and was buried in Brown Arbor Church Cem., Camp Springs, Caswell Co., NC.  They were in the 1910 and 1920 censuses for Stony Creek Twp., Caswell Co., NC.  Three of their 4 children were still living in 1910, and his brother CarltonÕs family was living with them in 1910.  He married second Hattie ‑‑‑‑‑‑.  She was born about 1890 in NC.  She had been married previously.  Jim, Hattie, and children from both their marriages were shown in the 1930 census for Stony Creek Twp., NC.  He was a farmer.  All his children were born in NC.

George Carlton Graves (7) was born in March 1884 in NC, and died 2 Oct. 1933 in Stony Creek, Caswell Co., NC[12].  He first married Caroline Brown, daughter of Julius Brown and Ella ‑‑‑‑‑‑, on 7 Dec. 1904 in Caswell Co., NC[13].  She was born 17 July 1885 in NC, and died 18 July 1911 in NC.  They were buried in Brown Arbor Baptist Church Cem., Camp Springs, Caswell Co., NC. They were in the 1910 census for Stony Creek Twp., Caswell Co., NC, living with his brother Jim.  He married second Ida Slade, daughter of Walter Brown and Millie ‑‑‑‑‑‑, on 5 Jan. 1916 in Stony Creek, NC[14].  She was born about 1894 in NC.  They were in the 1920 census for Stony Creek Twp.  He married third Mattie Windsor about 1927.  She was born about 1889 in NC.  They were in the 1930 census for Stony Creek Twp., along with nephews Porter Graves (20, son of Jim Graves) and Spencer E. Graves (28, son of Spencer Graves).  He was a farmer.

Spencer Thomas Graves (8) was born 27 May 1886 in NC, and died 25 Nov. 1946.  He married Lizzy Ray Bolden, daughter of Paul Bolden and Lucinda Blackwell, on 22 Feb. 1905 in Stony Creek, Caswell Co., NC[15].  She was born 3 June 1887 in NC, and died 31 July 1953.  They were in the 1920 and 1930 censuses for Stony Creek Twp., Caswell Co., NC.  He was a farmer.  All their children were born in NC, unless indicated otherwise.  They were buried in Camp Springs United Methodist Church Cem., Camp Springs, Caswell Co., NC.

Amanda (ÒMandyÓ) Graves (9) was born 2 July 1888 in NC, and died 7 June 1930 in Stony Creek, Caswell Co., NC[20].  She married John David Brown, son of Walter Brown and Millie ‑‑‑‑‑‑, on 20 Oct. 1908 in Lynchburg, VA[21].  He was born 29 March 1889 in Madison Co., NC, died 20 July 1955 in Elon College, Alamance Co., NC, and was buried in BrownÕs Chapel Baptist Church Cem., Caswell Co., NC[22].  They were in the 1910 census for Stony Creek Twp., Caswell Co., NC living with her parents.  At that time, she stated that her only child was not living.  They were in the 1920 and 1930 censuses in Stony Creek, NC.  All their children were born in NC.  He was recorded on the 1940 census with his second wife.  He was a farmer.
