Susanna Graves (1) was born about 1790 in VA, and died after 1860 in Daviess Co., MO. She first married ------ Givens about 1808, probably in NC. He died 1819-21 in Missouri Territory. His name may have been James, son of Alexander and Mary Givens.

She secondly married Wallace William McAfee on 16 March 1821 in Lillard Co. (now Lafayette Co.), MO. He was born about 1793 in NC, and died after 1874 in Daviess Co., MO. He had first married Miss Cox. All Susanna's children by Wallace were born in Clay Co., MO.

Information from the 1850 census for Lafayette Co., MO, and tombstones in the Graves Cemetery in Lafayette Co., MO, indicate that Susanna Graves probably had an older sister, Mary Graves, b.c. 1783, VA, d. 9 Nov. 1851, Lafayette Co., MO, m. R. C. Tyree, and a younger brother, John Graves, b.c. 1794, KY, d. 21 May 1851, Lafayette Co., MO, m. Elizabeth ------ (b.c. 1805, KY). (R-1)

Isaac M. Givens (4) was born about 1815 in TN, and died 27 April 1905 in McPherson Co., KS. He married Catherine Fletcher, daughter of Jesse Fletcher and Alcy ------, on 21 Feb. 1836 in Ray Co., MO, by his step-father Wallace McAfee, J.P. She was born 25 Nov. 1818 in Missouri Territory, and died 10 Dec. 1888 in McPherson Co., KS. They were both buried in Roxbury, McPherson Co., KS. All their children were born in MO. (R-1)

Merrit Givens (5) was born about 1818 in Missouri Territory, and died 8 June 1864 in Caldwell Co., MO. He married Nancy Allen, daughter of Jesse Allen and Sabrina Splawn, on 10 Jan. 1839 in Daviess Co., MO. She was born about 1822 in Bedford Co., TN, and died 25 Feb. 1905 in Daviess Co., MO. After Merrit died, Nancy then married Joshua Talbott.

Merrit Givens enrolled 28 July 1862 at Gallatin, MO as 2^nd Lt., Co. G, 33 Regt., Missouri Militia, and was promoted to Captain 28 Sept. 1862. He was killed near Weldon settlement, Caldwell Co., in an accidental encounter with Livingston Co. Militia hunting escaped prisoners.

All his children were born in Daviess Co., MO. They all died in Daviess Co., except for Merrit who died in Baker, OR, and Martha who died in Minneville, MO. (R-1)

26. William Givens, b.c. 1842, d. 8 Dec. 1861. He served in Co. A, 1^st Missouri Infantry, and died of disease in the Civil War.

27. Harriet Givens, b. 15 April 1844, m(1) Robert L. Creekmore, 24 Dec. 1860, m(2) George Curtis, m(3) D. B. Manville, d. 27 Aug. 1917. Robert was b.c. 1841 in Daviess Co., MO.

28. Isaac Givens, b. 7 Nov. 1847, m(1) Elizabeth J. Johnson, m(2) Katie E. Roseberry, 25 Dec. 1890, d. 9 Dec. 1915. She was b. 8 May 1865 in Sullivan Co., MO, and d. 8 Nov. 1952 in Jackson Co., MO.

She was born 15 May 1858 (or 1848) in Peoria, KS, and died 15 Aug. 1930 in Los Angeles, CA. Their first 2 children were born in MO and the others in KS. Merritt had another marriage, probably before his marriage to Nancy. (R-1, R-3)
