William Greaves (1) married Sarah Redfern on 21 Jan. 1794 at All Saints, Marple, Cheshire, England.

There may be a connection between this family and that of John Greaves of Stockport, Manchester, England (gen. 397), and possibly with that of William Greaves of Greenhill, Norton, South Yorkshire, England (gen. 336), since some of the members of each family lived in or near Stockport, Cheshire.
