1793 in Radford or Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England. He married Mary ‑‑‑‑‑‑. She was born about 1793 in
Attenborough, Nottinghamshire.
They were in the 1841 and 1851 censuses for Radford,
Nottinghamshire. In 1851, only
children Eliza, Emma, and Ellen were still at home. Thomas was a frame work knitter. Mary was in the 1861 census for Radford, widow and sewer,
70, with daughter Emma and her husband living with her.

was born about 1818 in Radford, Nottinghamshire. He married Elizabeth (ŌBetsyĶ) Burton. She was born about 1814 in Radford,
Nottinghamshire, and died before 1881.
They were in the 1841-1891 censuses for Radford. His widowed mother was living with them
in 1861. He was a framework
knitter. All their children were
born in Radford.

Radford. They were in the 1851
census for HetheringtonÕs Yard, Radford, Nottinghamshire. They were in the 1881 census at 5 Bloomsgrove St., Radford. He was a house painter. All their children were born in Radford.

censuses for Radford. They were in
the 1891 census for Wigston, Leicestershire. He was a hairdresser in 1861 and 1871,
a provision dealer and beer seller in 1881, and a hairdresser in 1891.

master and she was a school mistress. Their first 4 children were born in Radford, and the next in
Ollerton.

1881 census for Radford, living with his father, when he was an unemployed iron
turner, and she was a lace mender.
He was in the 1891 census for Radford, living with his father.

(19) was born about 1862 in Radford, Nottinghamshire. He married Betsy Offiler, daughter
of David Offiler and Elizabeth Farnsworth. She was born in the Sept. quarter 1861 in
Hyson Green, Nottinghamshire. They
were in the 1891 census for Radford, when he was a hosiery framework
knitter. (R‑1)

Arthur Greaves (20)
was born about 1863 in Radford, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. He married Sarah Jane Flear, daughter of Thomas Flear
and Mary Anne Abbott, on 12 April 1884 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. She was born about 1863 in Nottingham,
Nottinghamshire, England, and died 15 June 1951 in Milton, Northumberland Co.,
PA. SarahÕs family was in the 1881
census for Nottingham, St. Mary, when her father Thomas was a tailor.
Arthur and Sarah emigrated to America about 1900. Daughter Miriam told her grandson that she was born in
London, and at some point they went back to England, possibly to bury Arthur,
and then they returned to America.
Sarah, probably widowed about 1900 or so, was naturalized and lived in
Milton, Northumberland Co., PA.
She remarried a man named Thomas Cope, probably about 1902 (assuming
that Helen was their child).
Thomas was born about 1861 in England. (The Cope family appears to have had connections with the Flear family in England, since the 1881 census showed Jane
Cope, 52, as a boarder in the Flear household.) They were in the 1910 census for
Milton, PA, with children Raymond and May Greaves, and Helen Cope, 7, at which
time 4 of SarahÕs children were still living. Thomas and Sarah had 2 children, Helen and Harold (b.c. 1905). Thomas was an iron moulder
in 1910. (R‑1)
