Frances Graves (1) was born about 1755, possibly in New Kent Co., VA. Her name may have been Frances Mary or Mary Frances Graves. She married James Otey (or James Walter Otey) in New Kent Co., VA. He was born about 1754 in New Kent Co., VA. R-3 says she married second Isaac Otey, but the one child listed from that marriage is the same as one by the first marriage.

R-1 has read that Frances Graves was a daughter of a Col. Richard Graves who served in the Rev. War. If so, this is probably Richard Croshaw Graves of New Kent Co., VA, descended from Capt. Thomas Graves of VA (gen. 169), among whose descendants are several Otey/Graves marriages. (R-1, R-2, R-3)

He had first married her sister Martha who died. Thomas was born 10 Sept. 1826 in Trigg Co., KY, and died 16 March 1900 in Marmaduke, AR. They were both buried at Harvey's Chapel, Marmaduke, Greene Co., AR. All their children were born in McCracken Co., KY. (R-2)
