GENERATION 1
Henry Graves (1) was born about 1811 in England. He married Eleanor ‑‑‑‑‑‑. She was born about 1812 in Isle of Man. They were in the 1841 census for parish of Onchan, town of Douglas, Isle of Man, when they were living with Annette Cain, 60, schoolmaster. He was a confectioner. Their children were born in the Isle of Man.

GENERATION 2
CHILDREN OF HENRY GRAVES (1) AND ELEANOR ------
John L. (or J.) Graves (3) was born about 1836 in Douglas,
Isle of Man, and probably died before 1891, since his wife had remarried by
then. He married Alice ‑‑‑‑‑‑. She was born about 1843 in Liverpool,
Lancashire. They were in the 1871 and
1881 censuses for Kirkdale, Liverpool, Lancs.
He was a dock labourer in 1871 and a mariner in 1881. All their children were born in
Liverpool. Alice had remarried to Edwin
W. Brotherton, 54, ironplate driller, by 1891, since they were in the 1891
census for Kirkdale, Liverpool.

GENERATION 3
CHILDREN OF JOHN GRAVES (3) AND ALICE ------
Edward Graves (4) was born about 1870 in Liverpool,
Lancashire. He married Sarah E. ‑‑‑‑‑‑. She was born about 1872 in Liverpool. They were in the 1901 census for Bootle Cum
Linacre, Lancashire, when he was a general labourer, and his brother Douglas
was living with them.
