‑‑‑‑‑‑ Greaves (1) married Elizabeth ‑‑‑‑‑‑. She was born about 1811 in Durham, England. She was in the 1841 census for Sunderland, Durham, with 4 children, all born in Durham, but her husband was not with them. She has not yet been found in later censuses.

William Greaves (3) was born about 1831 in Gateshead (next to Newcastle Upon Tyne), Durham, England. He married Christiana (or Christianna or Christina) Robertson in the June quarter 1849[1] in Newcastle upon Tyne. She was born about 1832 in Sunderland, Durham. They were in the 1861, 1871, and 1881 censuses for Bedlington, Northumberland. He was a coal miner. He has not yet been found in the 1851 census.

John Greaves (4) was born about 1834 in Gateshead, Durham. He married Mary Twentyman in the Sept. quarter 1857[2] in Newcastle upon Tyne. She was born about 1841 in Seghill, Northumberland. They were in the 1861 and 1871 censuses for Bedlington, Northumberland. They were in the 1881 and 1891 censuses for Middlestone, Durham. He was a coal miner. Their first child was born in Horton, the next 2 in Bedlington, and last 6 children were born in West Sleekburn, Bedlington, all in Northumberland.

CHILDREN OF WILLIAM GREAVES (3) AND CHRISTIANA ROBERTSON

Ann Dewer Greaves (6) was born about 1850 in Jarrow, Durham. She married Robert Lackenby (or Lackinby) in the March quarter 1881[3] in Newcastle upon Tyne. He was born about 1855 in Monkwearmouth, Durham. They were in the 1891 census for Monkwearmouth. He was a coal miner.

Christina (or Christianna) Greaves (9) was born about 1855[4] in Seghill, Northumberland. She married Alfred George Hunter in the Sept. quarter 1874[5] in Morpeth, Northumberland. He was born about 1854 in Seaton Burn, Northumberland. They were in the 1881, 1891, and 1901 censuses for Bedlington, Northumberland. He was a coal miner. All their children were born in Northumberland.

Emily Carr Hunter (34) was born about 1895 in West Sleekburn, Bedlington, Northumberland, and died in 1969. She married Peter Kilner. He was born about 1897. He is probably the one in the 1901 census of Hirst, Northumberland, born in Swinton, Lancashire, son of William and Emma Jane Kilner. They emigrated to Canada in May 1929 on board the ship Andiania, along with their two children.
