He married Julia Mae Closser, daughter of John Closser and Susan Wescott, about 1883.  She was born 24 April 1863 in the Town of Frove, Allegany Co., NY, died 21 Feb. 1939 in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Co., MI, and was buried in Riverside Cem., Kalamazoo, MI.  When Julia died, she was a widow, indicating that her husband died prior to 1939.  Her obituary stated that she had lived in Kalamazoo for 20 years, since 1919.  However, the obituary for her daughter Lillian stated that Lillian had lived in Kalamazoo since 1917.

William and Julia were in the 1900 census for Ward 3, Marinette, Marinette Co., WI.  He was listed as a wagon maker (like his father) in the 1880 census, and as a wheelwright in 1900.  All their children were born in WI, probably in Marinette.  (R‑1)
