Joseph Graves (1) was born about
1756, died 16 Feb. 1837 in Towcester, and was buried 20 Feb. 1837 in Towcester,
Northamptonshire, England. He married
Ann Gurney on 30 March 1794 in Wicken.
She was born about 1769, and was buried 20 May 1824 in Towcester.
His
will in the Northants Record Office states:
GREAVES, Joseph Wheelwright 7 Mar
1837. To dau Ann Harris, 3 several
messuages, cottages or tenements with appurtenances in Towcester in the
occupations of Samuel Benbow, Rachel Young and Samuel Allington, and in
mortgage to Lucy Elizabeth Sheppard of Towcester, widow for £200 + interest.
Ann Harris to discharge 1/3 part of the Mortgage Debt.
To dau Martha Leonard, 3 other
Messuages, Cottages or Tenements in Towcester in occupation of James Cross,
John Walmsley and Samuel Tear, also included in said Mortgage to Lucy Elizabeth
Sheppard. Martha Leonard to discharge 1/3 part of Debt.
To dau Elizabeth Sharpe, 2
Messuages, Cottages or Tenements with yards, gardens, Barns, outbuildings and
appurtenances in Towcester in occupation of the said Elizabeth Sharpe, and

was widowed and still an inn keeper at the same address. His surname was listed as Greaves in 1851
and 1861, and as Graves in 1881 and 1891.
John Graves (4) was buried 24 March
1834 in Towcester. He married Jane
Moulton, daughter of John Moulton and Ann Johnson, on 25 June 1823 in
Towcester. She was born about 1798, and
was buried 22 Feb. 1834 in Towcester.
