Alvah ("Alvey") Graves (1) was born 16 May 1801 in NY, and died before 1860 (based on his not showing up in the 1860 census) in Macoupin Co., IL. He married Tabitha Withrow on 15 Feb. 1829 in Sangamon Co., IL. She was born 15 April 1811 in KY. They are noted in a book on the Early Settlers of Sangamon County, IL. It says that they moved to Macoupin Co., IL, and there died, leaving several children. This must have been before 1860, since the 1860 census shows their youngest child, William F., living in Sangamon Co. at age 8 with Thomas and Sarah Neff. The names of their children and the dates of birth are from the family Bible. (R-1)

Sarah A. Graves (4) was born 16 June 1834 in IL, and died in 1898. She married Thomas Neff on 13 Dec. 1855. He was born 2 April 1829 and died in 1883. Thomas and Sarah moved to Macoupin Co., IL, and lived there until they died. (R-1)
