Thomas Graves (1) may have been born as early as 1585 (although there don't seem to be enough generations between this Thomas Graves and the descendants with known dates). He married Sarah Morgan. (There was a Thomas Graves, born 1690 in Hatfield, MA, great-grandson of Thomas Graves of Hartford, CT (gen. 168), who married a Sarah Morgan. Is it possible there was confusion with this Thomas Graves?)

Because of uncertainty about how the first 4 generations of this family were determined, it is believed that they may not be correct, and that George Graves who married Roxanne ------ in generation 5 may be the earliest known ancestor. (R-1)
