William Graves (1) was probably born about 1780, possibly in Gloucester Co., VA.  He married Elizabeth ‑‑‑‑‑‑.  It is believed that he probably descends from Francis Graves of VA (genealogy 220).  (R‑1)

William Jefferson Graves (2) was born about 1809[1] and died 17 Jan. 1876, both in Gloucester Co., VA.  He first married Elizabeth Elliott.  She was born about 1815, and died by 1859.  He married second Margaret Cobb, daughter of William Cobb and Mary ------, on 15 Nov. 1859, by William E. Wiatt, at Providence Meeting House, Gloucester Co., VA.  He was an oysterman and a farmer.

The 1850 census for Gloucester Co., VA listed William J. Graves, 36, farmer, wife Eliza, 35, and children John J., 10, Robert G., 8, Edward F., 6, and William G., 7 months.  The 1860 census for Gloucester Co., VA, page 760, household 373, listed William Graves, 50, oysterman, wife Margaret, 39, and children John, 23, oysterman, Franklin, 15, William, 12, and Amos, 10.  The 1870 census for Abingdon, Gloucester Co., VA, page 325, post office Lancaster Court House, dwelling 463, household 478, listed William Graves, 60, farmer, and wife Margaret, 55.  Next door in dwelling 462, household 477, was John J. Graves, 33, oysterman, wife Elizabeth, 23, and Frances Gipson, 15.  (R‑1)

William G. Graves (6) was born about 1848 in Abingdon Parish, Gloucester Co., VA, and died in 1878.  He married Sarah Frances Dunston, daughter of John Dunston and Mary Bridges, on 23 Dec. 1869 in Gloucester Co., VA, by W. S. Hawkins.  She was born about 1845, and died 11 May 1930.  (R‑1)

Amos Fielding Graves (7) was born in May 1850 in Gloucester Co., VA.  He married Alice J. Fletcher, daughter of James Fletcher and Lilly Minor, on 18 Feb. 1877 in Gloucester Co., VA, by William E. Wiatt.  She was born in April 1855 in Gloucester Co., VA.  They were in the 1880 census for Abingdon, Gloucester Co., VA, page 120C, with son William, age 1.  They were in the 1900 and 1910 censuses for Abingdon, Gloucester Co., VA, when 3 of their 6 children were still living.  They were in the 1930 census for Abingdon, Gloucester Co., VA.  Amos was a farmer.  (R‑1)

Laura Belle Graves (8) was born in 1871 and died in 1940.  She married William Turner Moore, son of W. Moore and Catharine Stevenson, on 3 Dec. 1885 in Gloucester Co., VA, by William E. Wiatt.  He was born in 1861 in King and Queen Co., VA, and died in 1942.  They were both buried in Newington Cem., Gloucester Co., VA.  The inscription on her tombstone reads: ÒGod gives us love.  Something to love He lends us.Ó  (R‑1)

    21.   Pearl Loray Moore, b. 9 Dec. 1903, m. Roland Clinton Callis, d. 24 March 1996.  He was b. 1 May 1893 and d. 5 June 1945.  Both bur. Newington Cem., Gloucester Co., VA.  He served in the U.S. Army, Virginia, Pvt. 1C1, 126 Inf., 32 Div. (according to his tombstone).

William B. Graves (9) was born in Oct. 1878 in VA.  He married Henrietta F. ‑‑‑‑‑‑ about 1905.  She was born about 1881 in VA.  They were in the 1910 census for Abingdon, Gloucester Co., VA.  He was a blacksmith in 1900 and 1910.

Charles Franklin Lloyd Graves (13), called Lloyd C. (or F.) Graves, was born in Dec. 1884 in VA.  He married Pearl Virginia Hogg in 1905.  She was born about 1886 in VA.  They were in the 1910, 1920, and 1930 censuses for Abingdon, Gloucester Co., VA.  He was a blacksmith in 1910 and 1920, and a farmer and freight hauler in 1930.

[1] The 1850 census shows his age as 36, the 1860 census shows 50, and the 1870 census shows 60.  His age of 68 at death indicates a birth date of 1807.
