Henry Grave (1) may have been born about 1520, since he had a son about 1546. He lived in Swillington (next to Rothwell, and about 4 miles southeast of Leeds), Yorkshire. (R‑1)

Lancelot Grave (2) was born 1546, was baptized 10 Dec. 1546 in St. Mary, died in Feb. 1613/14 in Astley, and was buried 18 Feb. 1613/14 in St. Mary, all in Swillington, Yorkshire. His estate was probated 3 Feb. 1613/14 (before his death?). He married Joanna Chamber, daughter of Henry Chamber and Joanna ‑‑‑‑‑‑, on 5 Oct. 1567 in St. Mary, Swillington. William Grave (4) was born 1569, was baptized 11 Nov. 1569 in St. Mary, died in April 1623 in Astley, and was buried 14 April 1623 in St. Mary, all in Swillington, Yorkshire. He first married Margaret Chambers on 30 Jan. 1598/99 in St. Mary, Swillington. She died in July 1610 in Astley, and was buried 3 July 1610 in St. Mary, both in Swillington. He married second Alice Rayner on 13 Feb. 1613/14 in St. Mary, Swillington. She died in June 1618 in Astley, and was buried 26 June 1618 in St. Mary, both in Swillington. She was born in 1634, was baptized 23 July 1634 in St. Mary, died in Dec. 1661 in Allerton Bywater, and was buried 24 Dec. 1661 in St. Mary, all in Kippax, Yorkshire She was a daughter of William Stable (b. 1599, d. 1670) and Elizabeth Langfield (d. after 1642).
