GENERATION 2
CHILDREN OF WILLIAM GRAVE (1) AND MARGARET ------
Hannah Maria Grave (2) was born in 1825 and was baptized 28
Aug. 1825, both in Patterdale, Westmorland.
She married John Sadler on 27 Oct. 1843 in St. George’s Cathedral,
Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He was with
the English Army, as part of the Royal Artillery, in Kingston at that
time. Their marriage certificate is an
Army Chaplain’s Record and does not give the usual information about their
fathers one would find on a regular English marriage certificate. Two years after marriage, they returned to
England with the Royal Artillery.
After the birth of John in 1830, no English records can be
found, and it is suspected that the entire family emigrated to Kingston,
Ontario sometime after this date. (R‑1)
