GENERATION 1

Nathaniel Greaves (1) was born about 1772, and was baptized as an adult in 1795. He married ‑‑‑‑‑‑. (R‑1)

GENERATION 2

CHILDREN OF NATHANIEL GREAVES (1)

William Greaves (4) was born about 1795-1797 in Eccleshill, Bradford, Yorkshire, England, and died before 7 April 1861. He married Elizabeth (“Betty”) Gowland (or Goullen), daughter of Richard Gowland. She was born about 1795 in Knapton (or Acomb), Yorkshire. All their children were born in Bramley, Leeds, Yorkshire. GENERATION 3

CHILDREN OF WILLIAM GREAVES (4) AND ELIZABETH ------

Nathaniel Greaves (7) was born about 1833 in Bramley, Leeds, Yorkshire, and died after 1890. He first married Sarah Cariss between Oct. and Dec. 1855 in Bradford, Yorks. She was born about 1832 in Eccleshill, Bradford, Yorks., and died between April 1858 and 7 April 1861 in Bradford, Yorks. He married second Mary Ann Leach between Jan. and March 1864 in Bradford, Yorks. She was born about 1844, and died Oct.-Dec. 1867 in Bradford, Yorks.

He apparently never married Hannah Whitfield, but he had a decade-long relationship with her that produced 6 children. She was born 20 March 1840 in Idle, Bradford, Yorks, and died Oct.-Dec. 1904 in Yorkshire. She had first been married to Edwin Moorhouse in 1859 and had 4 children with him before he disappeared from the records. She retained the surname of Moorhouse the rest of her life, and her children with Nathaniel had that name.

All Nathaniel’s children were born in Eccleshill, Bradford, Yorks. (R‑1)

Fanny Greaves (11) was born 24 Nov. 1864 in Eccleshill, Bradford, Yorks. She married James (“Jim”) Jowett. He was born about 1857 in Eccleshill. All their children were born in Eccleshill, Bradford. (R‑1)

He first married Annie Sowden, marriage registration 2 March 1907 in Bradford, Yorks. She was born about 1872 and died Oct.-Dec. 1907, both in Bradford, Yorks. He married second Emily Hartley on 31 Jan. 1910 in North Bierley, Bradford. She was born 25 April 1869 in Eccleshill, Bradford, and died 1 Feb. 1951 in Clayton, Bradford, Yorks. (R‑1)
