DESCENDANTS OF EDWIN L. GRAVES AND IONE S. BROWN OF ST. LAWRENCE CO., NY

GENERATION 1

Edwin L. Graves (1) was born in Jan. 1863 in NY. He married Ione S. Brown, daughter of Perry J. Brown and Sarah ‑‑‑‑‑‑, about 1888. She was born in Feb. 1861 in VT. They were in the 1900, 1910 and 1930 censuses for Potsdam, St. Lawrence Co., NY. He was a carpenter. All their children were born in NY.

Edwin has not been found in any earlier census records. This may be because he was listed with a different name (perhaps his middle name), or because his age or other information was wrong on the records that have been found. There is a slight possibility that he was the Edwin Graves, b.c. 1852, who was in the 1870 census for Monroe Co., NY, and was a son of Jason Graves and Cornelia Louisa Boland, descended from John Graves of Concord, MA (genealogy 166).

Forest Perry Graves (3) was born in Jan. 1899 in NY. He married Ethel I. ‑‑‑‑‑‑ about 1922. She was born about 1906 in NY. They were in the 1930 census for Potsdam, St. Lawrence Co., NY, living with his parents, and he was an upholsterer in a furniture shop. (R‑1)
