She was born in 1703 in Beighton, and died 24 Oct. 1739 in Harthill. He married second Margaret Wright. She was born 15 Nov. 1696 in Harthill. He married Hannah Smith, daughter of Joseph Smith, on 6 Feb. 1815 in Laughten en le Morthen, Yorkshire. She was born 10 Sept. 1797 and died in May 1824, both in Shipmanthorpe, Wortley, Yorkshire. After William died, Hannah married John Parrott in Sept. 1823 in Tankersley, Yorkshire. Their first 3 children were born in Shipmanthorpe, Wortley, West Riding, Yorkshire, and the last in Barnsley, Yorkshire. (R‑1)

John Greaves (43) was born 2 Feb. 1821 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, and died 26 Oct. 1899 in Maltby, Yorkshire. He married Mary Ann Gilberthorpe, daughter of William Gilberthorpe and Mary Robinson, on 2 March 1846 in All Saints, Laughton en le Morthen. She was born 31 Oct. 1821 in Slade Hooton, Laughton en le Morthen, Yorkshire, and died 25 Sept. 1899 in Carr, Yorkshire. They were in the 1851-1891 censuses for Laughton en le Morthen, village of Brookhouse, Yorkshire. He was an agricultural laborer. The 1851 census listed George Gilberthorpe, son-in-law, age 8, born in Slade Hooton, who may have been a son of Mary before her marriage to John. The 1871 census listed the entire family as born in Wortley, Yorks. The 1891 census listed John as born in Wortley, and Frank Greaves, 8, born in Laughton, grandson, was living with them. All their children were born in Laughton en le Morthen, Yorkshire. (R‑1)

Charles Greaves (51) was born 20 Sept. 1846 in Slade Hooton, Laughton en le Morthen, Yorkshire, and died in 1884 or 1877 (or June 1889) in Kimberworth or Rotherham, Yorkshire. (These two places are only about a mile apart.) He married Eliza Greensmith, daughter of Charles Greensmith and Mary Bell, in Oct. 1867 in Rotherham parish church. She was born 13 June 1845 in Greasbrough, Yorkshire, and died in 1877 in Rotherham. They were in the 1871 census for Greasbrough, Yorkshire, when he was a coal miner. They were in the 1881 census for Kimberworth, Yorkshire, when he was a carter.
